Alix has conceived and realised a remarkable penthouse apartment of restrained glamour in Miami’s Fendi Chateau Residence. The art collector client dreamt of turning a 650 sq m shell into a family home that also worked as gallery and a place to entertain friends.
The apartment is now dominated by a series of connected open spaces that includes two living rooms, a dining room and bar area, all with dramatic ocean views. With a nod to the remarkable Art Deco legacy of Collins Avenue, Alix has created spaces that capture the particular élan of 1930s Miami but are never pastiche. The design pulls together pieces from the 1920s to the 1970s but the effect is always elegant, cohesive and true which provides the perfect environment for the client’s art collection. The apartment also features more intimate family rooms and includes four bedrooms and six bathrooms.
